Dubai’s mall map is getting another major pin. Dubai Retail has unveiled Skylight Mall, a super-regional shopping destination scheduled to open in 2027 on Al Khail Road, with more than 360 stores across 1.3 million square feet of gross leasable area, the company announced on October 6 in its official release.

The project takes Dubai Retail’s portfolio to 58 malls and lifestyle destinations across the emirate. The group, part of Dubai Holding Asset Management, already runs Palm Jumeirah Mall, Ibn Battuta Mall, Dragon Mart and The Outlet Village, plus lifestyle destinations such as Bluewaters and JBR, GCC Business News notes.

What is planned inside Skylight Mall

The mall will combine retail with dining, entertainment and everyday services. Dubai Retail describes a contemporary design built around expansive, light-filled interiors and fluid, interconnected spaces linking shopping, dining and social areas. The tenant mix has not been announced yet, so brand names, anchor stores and the exact opening date in 2027 are still to come.

Who the Al Khail Road location serves

The site sits on one of Dubai’s main residential corridors. Dubai Retail names Jumeirah Village Triangle, Jumeirah Islands and The Springs among the communities it will serve, while expecting visitors from across the city. For those communities, the nearest large malls currently mean a drive to Mall of the Emirates or Dubai Hills, so a super-regional option on Al Khail Road fills a real gap in the map.
