Gold jewellery displayed in a Dubai jewellery store ahead of Diwali
Tanishq Middle East is letting UAE customers lock in the gold rate now for Dhanteras and Diwali purchases.

Lock today’s gold rate for Diwali

Tanishq Middle East, the jewellery brand from India’s Tata Group, has launched a “Best Gold Rate” offer at its UAE stores, letting customers lock in the gold rate now and complete their purchase later — just in time for Dhanteras and Diwali. The announcement was made on September 29, 2026.

The timing is deliberate: gold continues to trade near record levels, and for families who set aside a Diwali budget months ago, the rise has meant an uncomfortable choice between buying less or waiting and hoping the price eases.

How the rate lock works

Customers choose a piece and pay 20 per cent of its value upfront. If the gold rate drops before they complete the purchase, they pay the lower rate. If it rises, the rate at the time of booking applies — so the downside is removed either way.

Customers then have until the final collection date to pay the balance and take the piece home. The offer runs until 8 November 2026, covering Dhanteras and Diwali, and is available at all Tanishq stores in the UAE. Terms and conditions apply.

Why it matters for visitors too

Gold shopping is part of the Dubai experience for many visitors — the city’s gold souks and jewellery stores draw shoppers from across India and the wider region, especially around Diwali. Dhanteras is traditionally one of the busiest gold-buying days of the year for UAE jewellers, and the weeks around Diwali also mark the start of the winter wedding season for many Indian and South Asian families.
